UK direct-access brokerages for US equity markets?

Hi guys,
for those who access the US equity markets, what brokerage are you using?
I am moving from NYC to London soon and exclusively scalps the NASDAQ. I am currently with a prop firm in NYC and was wondering if there are any direct access brokerages in UK, that have similar platforms to those found in US brokerages. I am talking about using hot keys and directly preferencing the ECN's or just being able to put in multiple bids/offers with different ECN's. I primarily hold positions for arnd 25-40 secs, so being able to do this is critical to my trading method.
I looked at Interactive Brokers, and their platform dosent seem to suit my scalping needs. If there is anyone who has experience with this at all, I would appreciate it.

You would be most welcome to join in.

I think most UK based traders trading the Nasdaq end up using US based brokers.
The UK based ones just can't match the execution fees.
Most of us use the likes of IB (I agree the platform leaves a lot to be desired), TradeStation, Genisis etc
The Laser platform seems to be the preferred choice specially amongs scalpers.
