UK CGT tax calculator for Interactive Brokers

They are in GBP. The dollar symbol is most likely a culture problem I need to take care of.
Hello Alex - as if UK CGT calculation was already not complicated enough, we now have a change of tax rate mid TY24... How do you suggest handling this and is this something you are looking into supporting in your tool?

Tommy - sorry have not replied to your email yet, will reach out this week. Let us know if any update re: options handling. I guess same question to you as well regarding change of CGT from 20 to 24% in October.

Many thanks
Nico

Thanks Nico - I think I should have something working around the end of the month. I'm just working on the parsing at the moment.

For the CGT changes this year, in the summary, I display disposals and acquisitions in each part of the year in separate columns. You can then apply all losses against the gains in the 24% part of the year first.

The amount of tax owed is a straight forward calculation when you export the disposals gain/loss to excel.

Options are now live, though there is a decent chance the parser may not work properly. Any feedback is much appreciated!

I do forex on IB and have been having a hard time getting the right CGT amount lately, is your software helpful for forex trading? I'll be happy to provide data for you guys to test, thanks

Hi Catherine, yes, it should be able to handle forex, though it's possible your statement contains unsupported data, in which case I will need to write an update to support it. The easiest way to try is to sign up and import your statement and see if it works. If it doesn't (or you need any help), you can email me at [email protected] and I'll get it working. Thanks!

Hi sharecalc,
I think your app is incredible and very good. I've used robcarver17 app in the past, but I need to update things here and there with the years to support new html formats and other things that I need.

I've been trying yours a bit, but when I upload too many transactions end up failing (either on Import or Tax generation) with error:

Code:
We're sorry, but something went wrong.[/HEADING]
[HEADING=2]If you are the application owner check the logs for more information.

Unfortunately I have a lot of transactions that I need to compute and while I've tried to split files to avoid errors during the import, I cannot get it working beyond some point.
Might be the servers not able to handle high loads?

Thanks a lot for this amazing tool that will help us to avoid mistakes, and more than happy to provide additional feedback or be tester of anything you need.
