Transferring money to buy property abroad

Hi there, I'm sure there's a thread elsewhere along this theme but I'm unable to find it....

Would anyone here like to advise me on which method would work out best for me to move, and exchange, funds from the UK to a Spanish bank account of mine in order for me to buy property there.

I'm aware that there are a number of possible ways for this to be done and was wondering if anyone's got any experience in the area.

Any help would much appreciated

Or, you could try typing "currencies 4 less" into google - there are several companies that do this sort of thing and so you should be able to find something that suits you.

There's a place called the London Currency Exchange near Holborn tube station in London that does this sort of thing; have heard them recommended but I've never used them myself, though. They claim very competitive rates, considerably better than a bank.

You should be able to easily do it through a good broker. Ask them to change up sterling into cash euros and then wire the money out to your account in Spain. But the account has to be in your name otherwise they won't do it, money laundering etc.

Whatever you do you want to see the costs involved with all possible routes (broker, the place in Holborn, other companies etc) because doing business with one over another company could save you a lot of money.

I don't live in London but as you mention they DON'T seem to have a web site and they DON'T have an entry in yell.com

i Found a good company to do this for me, gave me very good rate, very helpful people. secured me gbp-euro on contract at nice rate......very quick & efficient. cant think of the name at the mo as early hours sat having cuppa & at girlfriends.
