Trading US stocks on limited account?

Ok guys i have two possibilites:

I have an investor who is willing to put up £20k in order to start a trading account. The latter is i have £2k but my question is, is it possible to start daytrading us stocks on £2k? I know it is more than possible in forex but what about stocks?

It seems much simpler to predict direction of movement in stocks than currencies. Whats everyones opinion.

yes you can trade with £2k, but you will be limited by such a small sum, at most you will only be able to trade 3 times a week, due to the US trading rules......which I believe is patten trader?, I'm struggling to remember the term used, but it can be a good way into trading, thats how I started and progressed onwards........and still progressing and learning...............good luck
