The major companies do trade 24/7 these days with all the cross-listings and whatnot. Don't expect the bulk of trading to move in that direction, though. The vast majority of stocks in any particular country will generally only trade any real volume during that country's main timezone. It's like in forex where the biggest currencies are active around the clock, but the regional currencies see very little action outside their main timeframe.
