Morning Guys,
I'm very new to trading and I'm looking for any traders that live near me who would be willing to offer any words of wisdom, perhaps maybe meet up and let me see what they do etc.
I'm particularly interested in TA and am considering taking the massive step from theory to practice!
Any replies would be gratefullt received

Hello mate,

Not living in Edinburgh at the moment, but from there. Best of luck with your endevours.

First step might be to read a couple of books. Perhaps Market Wizards (Schwager), Technical Analysis (Murphy), Come into my Trading Room (Elder), Reminiscences of a Stock Operator (Lefevre), Trading in the Zone (Douglas) for starters. Others will suggest other books. However, while each of the above has something different to offer, none will be as useful as trading itself.

Figure out a plan / strategy, try to stick to it and then just get involved. You'll probably find you're your own best tutor. Evenutally you'll also come to realise that other people's opinions or ideas are to be taken with a pinch of salt. Beware advice on trading! That said, there are plenty of useful / interesting posts on this site to help you.

All the best,
AM

Cheers for the help Alpha. I'm looking at time cycles using Delta at present, a reasonable place to start you think?

Hi there,

I'm Falkirk based, but work in Edinburgh, would be happy to chat at some point.

Have'nt been on the board for a wee while, and just coming back to trading after not touching it for a while, so would be happy to share past experience with you.

Drop me an email and we can arrange a meeting offline.

Hmmm, sounds a bit suspicious.

I think the best place for any trader to start is at the bid-ask. By which I mean study price action in real time. It's the basis upon which everything else builds.
