Just wondering if there is anything out there that you could trade having only committed $200?

I have looked into doing minimum sizes with spread betting, but just don't feel too comfortable having the owners of the trading platform take the other side of all of my trades. And I keep hearing a lot of problems about people not getting the trades go through, platform freeze etc.

I want to try out trading almost anything, but don't have much capital to commit and using Demo accounts just don't create the same feeling, since its not your/real money you are trading with.

you could try oanda - there is effectively no minimum size, so you could risk fractions of a penny per trade.

:D Think you need to do your research, I started with a similarly small amount, I was definitely underfunded but I had the option to add more if I had a bad run. Fortunately for me it has built up to a more reasonable amount.

There are some very large firms out there and I think you have to take some things with a pinch of salt. A lot of large spreadbetting firms get a bad rep' but they have a lot of regulation and you have to feel comfortable trading with them.

I am sure you can google reviews on the larger firms if you are nervous, or reviews on here. I personally don't see a lot of benefit in a larger spreadbetting firm messing people about, they make their money on the spread and it is in their interest to keep the clients happy, I am sure they are sufficiently hedged to not worry about a normal size spreadbet...

This is only my 2ps worth for what good is does. I have dealt with a couple of the larger firms and I have been very pleased with the service.:)

Try IGIndex - I joined them and they let you start with 10p PP - then after 3 weeks it goes up to 30p PP then eventually after 6 weeks its £1.
I used them and found them really useful - they also provide you with a guide on how to do spread bets, and you can chose whether or not you wish to risk more than you originally put into the account. Free to join and takes a few moments - worth it in my opinion.

Thanks for the input. When you guys did the spread betting, were you leaving it overnight or day scalping?

Bangkoker: How much did you start off with, if you don't mind sharing and what trading did you get into? spread betting?

I'm gonna check out oanda right now, thanks

I started with a couple of hundred pounds and tend not to leave position on overnight. Forex with small pip size is a good idea though. I was mostly doing bets on ftse;)
