Tight stops and spreadbetters = no-no?

Well one of the things was this 1% stop malarkey, although the Kelly thread seemed to go quite well. Lots of little things.

There's also a wager I have with a city trader, didn't think people would think it was a smart thing to do, but people are already assuming I'm incapable and dumb so might as well come clean.

Was looking into a few random strategies (was hoping to start Monday but oh well, maybe next week). Thought I'd start simple with, buy/sell randomly in the morning, tight stop, and let it run till closing. Should be simple, efficient, and dare I say it fun.

I've been trialling something similar as an experiment, for the past 18 months. Uses tight stops on IG Index (just above their minimum stop distance).

So far, results have been surprisingly consistent with those from historical testing. Risking 0.5% per trade, made about 150% over the course of the test so far.

So, I'd definitely be interested to hear how it goes for you.
