Is anyone with access to Tradestation interested in collaborating in creating a simple system for the ES and YM futures contract? I had a system which utilised the NYSE $tick index but I'm not sure if it still works as I havnt had access to tradestation for some time. The system was manual but in theory could have been automated with EL. The last month I traded the system it made about 200 points on the YM.

$tick index from other data providers seems to be calculated differently and is not as effective.

happy 2013,I hope it Is a good trading year for you, i just saw the below message, i have trade-station platform and use it for trading FX at present but i am currently setting up a futures account with a view to trading ES/YM intraday-hence i have been considering the $ tick as a potential tool to do so,
Your below message(although 3 years old) would there fore be of interest to me, regarding if it still works, I cant say personally with full certainty wheather it does or not-but i do know a few traders who employ it to this day and one who swears by it as hsi most consistent tool - so i can only assume that there is still merit in this method,

May i ask what methodology you use ?,
i assume you fade the extremes(-1000/+1000 )in choppy markets,buy and sell $tick index pull backs to zero line ( or there abouts )in trending market s and
that you use divergences ?
Do you use the indicator on its own or are there other confirming elements employed in conjunction?

It only worked for a while a few years ago, it was good while it lasted but it didnt last too long, as with any system. You would probably be wasting your time looking at it again as it worked best in high volatility, which appears now to be gone.
