I just want to state my choice of trading books that must be read.

These books may not be THE best - because I haven't read all trading books (only almost all).

Firstly if you're into system trading (which I think everyone must be to a certain extent) then you need to read:

Professional Stock Trading: System Design and Automation
by Mark R. Conway, Aaron N. Behle

This is the muts in terms of actual usable trading system material - not just rubbish about the concepts.

Trading Systems and Methods
by Perry J. Kaufman (Author)

Not a bad book

The Encyclopedia of Trading Strategies
by Jeffrey Owen Katz, Donna L. McCormick

Good book for strategies but does not cover in any detail.

Trading Secrets of the Inner Circle
by Andrew Goodwin (Paperback - December 1997)

This is the way trading is really done - which statistics that work - also makes you think of other stats to try in metastock etc.

Long-Term Secrets to Short-Term Trading
by Larry Williams (Author) (Hardcover )

Same as above in terms of correct trading strategies that can be proved systematically.

Mind over markets
Dalton

A book that I think is very useful - uses Market Profile to assess market activity - I think it's a good way to force you to look at the right things in market behaviour. Not a trading system book at all.

Books that I think are rubbish

All the others I haven't listed especially any on Elliot wave theory and any by Bill Williams.
