Shorting the Gilts market

Is there any way of shorting the UK Gilts market? I know in America that they have leveraged inverse yield funds tracking the gilt price, but I can't find anything similar in the UK.

Also, any ideas on whether this is a good idea right now, or whether you would wait.

Any help and advice much appreciated.

Why don't you just sell the gilt future? Most spreadbetting shops offer that...
