Isn't Shell bigger than BP in the FTSE?
Shell A has 5.91% and Shell B has 4.33%, which is bigger than BP at 9.15%...just for the purposes of trying to figure out when FTSe will run into major resistance...

Bloomberg screen. Can see that you got yours on the FTSE website, but small print says that is as of 31/122008.

Bloomberg screen as in Bloomberg screen on an investment bank's trading desk.

Suspect you're looking at the price column SanMiguel

That might have something to do with it :)
Any ideas where I can get the percentages? I've had a hunt around on the net but most of it is out of date stuff.

This as of 2009:
Rank ↓ Company ↓ Business type ↓ Capitalisation (£m) ↓
(from stock exchange listing)
1 HSBC Financial (bank) 119,036
2 Royal Dutch Shell Energy (Oil/Gas) 107,824
3 BP Energy (Oil/Gas) 100,364
4 Vodafone Group Telecommunications (mobile) 72,739
5 GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (inc. research) 63,224
6 AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals (inc. research) 40,027
7 Barclays Bank Financial (bank) 39,351
8 British American Tobacco Tobacco 38,730
9 Rio Tinto Group[4] Mining 38,174
10 BHP Billiton[5] Mining 35,908

gave it a cursory google myself, very surprised that this isn't freely available (or if it is I can immediately find it) on their own website
