Selling Dow Jones Indu in September-October 2005

I would really like to know an appropriate time to open a selling contract for DJI
I think selling the dji towards the 18th or 19th september this year till the 15th of october would be an ideal opportunity comments please.....

I'm not a swing trader because there are not enough points in it. My interest is cleaning up the market daily.

However, what, in your words, is your idea for wanting to sell the Dow in the period 18/9 to15/10?

I am planning to by a selling contract(ie go short) in september around the 15th and close it around the 15th of october.

The exact plan is to short the market at the 10750 level and keep it in till the 10200 level which I think will achieve by october the 15th.....
The buy again at the 10100-10250 level in october and sell closer to december the 26th...

You looking to sell the Dow. "Let the market tell you".I would sell around 90 points off the highest high of the last 3 days..that could be tomorrow or the next few days. even next week.? Target 10350.to 10300.You will still be selling high,but also selling weakness.at the same time.The best of both worlds.Good luck.

Well, hell, I'm not much use to you. I hope your plan works.

I concentrate on exploiting the market on a daily basis. I only back certainties. It comes to a lot more points than 550 points over a month which apparently is your aim based on your speculative hope or calculation. But good luck anyhow.

Watch the market for sentiment over this week on the oil figures and economic numbers, so far market has taken all the bad news in its stride and gone up. So it is seeing everything even if bad, from a bull point of view

I have often found that is the best way to do things.. especially for brokers upgrades and analysts recommendations.. I have made money by doing the opposite to them, cos they like to lure the punters

Just to let you know as per my plan we have shorted the market at the 10649 and it is :cheesy: currently at 10558....This was the plan still a long way to go.......

Total Point scored today is 124...Currently out of the trade...The plan is to short the market again tommorow at the 10600 level and this time I will be keeping the trade in till close of play...

Just as promised for you who are following my posts....
Shorted the market at 10605 again and made a total of 110 point that is over 230 point in 2 days I have been posting here just to let you know that my plan has been working so far....

Nice to see you're doing well (excellent actually!)... just one thing... 15£ to start with seems a bit
on the high side...don't know what your "disposable capital" is or how experienced you are...
"money management" etc... but to me, 15£ a pip seems a bit too high..

Normally 2-5£ per trade seems more like it.

Hi Mate I had a stop loss around the 11000 mark
and it is timing and season as well you have to consider...
I have been trading for a good 6 years and have been burnt as well in the past but
I have been scoring well based on my stratergies.....

I did tell all of you that I would do this so am close to my 5K target on my selling contract
one more risk day left after that Weil quit and then startup my buying contract for the 10th of october as it shoudl be consolidation from monday onwards......

Next on my agenda is to start selling oil at £10 a point starting from Saturday onwards...
I will hit it along the 68 region with a stop of 400 points
My expectations at the momment are wait and watch....
Anywhere near 70 it a definate sell order for me...

I guess you can see that it was a wise decision by my self to not go short any more...
I had my reasons and have proved it ....
