I am looking to have a trading system developed for my pruchase which daytrades the S&P 500 futures with the follwoing rules:

1. Signal(s) generated every day (could have two signals in a day)
2. averages at least 15 trades per month
3. entry and exits are known at or before 8am CST
4. exits with target or MOC
5. prefer entry with limit order
6. 40-60%+ accurate
7. max 30% DD
8. shows good results over at least 3 year period
9. stops and targets can be different each day
10. average stop and target are around 4-8+ points
11. averages 5-10+ points per month in profit

Please let me know if you have an interest in selling me such a system or doing a partnership.

Craig

Craig, if you're serious about this you need to answer the following;

  1. How will the data be retrieved for analysis?
(Will you be linking to Bloomberg, Reuters, CQG or will you be entering the inputs by hand?)
  2. How will the trades be executed?
(Will you be linking to an interface of a trading platform like X-Trader or Stellar to automatically generate the trade ticket? Or will you have a pop up box telling you to do do something?)
Also, it strike me that many of the criteria that you list above will be a function of the system you want programmed (e.g. "shows good results over at least 3 year period"). Do you have the system strictly defined? This will help you get someone willing to take it on. From what you've said it should be achievable to do in Excel.

Hi RichE

1. I have eSignal if real-time data is required, the orders would be placed manually.
2. I don't have the rules, that is why I posted Trader/Programmer needed

Hi Tom,

I don't think I can help here. A programmer would need to know the logic behind the decisions that will be made otherwise he would end up developing the trading system. Additionally, the "accuracy" rate cannot be guaranteed.

However, as a 'way-forward' you might want to look at a combination of technical analysis signals to generate some trade ideas.

Good luck, I hope you find something that works.

Your DD is stated in %, while everything else is in points. If you are looking to make 100pts a year, a max drawdown of 50pts would be a more resonable way of stating drawdowns.
