previous vs revised

Please see the image above. What changes the actual number that is released at the time of the news release, to say the revised number in the future?

Is it that when the actual number gets released on the day, it's an estimate? Then sometime after the ACTUAL revised number is known?

I always though the number we hear at the time of the news release was the final number and can't understand how or why this number is changed/revised in the future?

If the above is not clear, I guess what i'm trying to ask is why in my screenshot, is the "previous" number not the same as the "actual" number of the last news release?

Think of nearly all economic data as being subject to revision. They are more like "near final" rather than final results.
