Is EL CABRON the reincarnated and banned FX Bandit?

I doubt it. He looks more like Burt Reynolds than FX Bandit.
yes, they were one and the same, er, wasn't it obvious?
btw fx is only on a holiday, so as to give the mods some peace on the editing and deleting
i'll leave this thread up for a day or so for info, then its binned.
Your ball, you can kick it as far down the road as you want, but are you saying you allow multi nic trolls, whose only purpose seemed to be to attack other members (such as Howard Cohodas) incessantly from behind multi nics, back onto the forum after an enforced *rest*? Are you suggesting that fx bandit didn't have 'previous' in/as another incarnation?
but if a banned member wants to return there isn't a great deal we can do about that.
i'd rather spend my time here despamming and ridding the board of scams/ads etc.
Some forum software packages have the ability to ban by IP address. Not perfect, but more effective than personality detective work.

of course he had previous, many current members have previous. it all depends on how they behave on the boards, their conduct dictates how long they stay around.
tbh i like fx bandit, but his ott bad language/behavior lets him down. i agree, he stayed longer than he should have perhaps, but if a banned member wants to return there isn't a great deal we can do about that. they will return even if banned and carry on regardless. sometimes it is easy to spot, sometimes not. all very time consuming chasing around after them, i'd rather spend my time here despamming and ridding the board of scams/ads etc.
never?!
there are such systems, very sophisticated they are but certainly they're not perfect, ip can be got around easily you see
Yes, but he had previous under other aliases and you knew this presumably?
Yes they can, but it makes more work for the perpetrator at a small cost to the forum administrator. There is not any magic bullet to defend against such things, but a layered approach is almost always a good one.
There are other technology solutions, each with additional work involved by both parties. Kind of an escalating offense and defense. I just thought I would mention the easiest one to implement.
el cabron had to be weeded out manually, the system, good as it is, failed to identify and keep him out. so no, there are no magic bullets.
