Papertrader (Trading Simulator)

Does anyone here know anything about 'Papertrader'? Their promotional literature states that they are a joint venture between MacFutures and Future Dynamics. They claim to be a realtime simulator.

I was particularly interested in feedback on the following;

Real-time data
papertrader has achieved live market trading by
developing a 'simulated exchange gateway' placed
between the software and the exchange. This
gateway handles all orders placed by traders onto
the market, matching them as if they were placed
on the actual market by interpreting the market
price and depth.​

How could you simulate orders being filled if you're not really in the market? Does it note your position in the order queue and approximately lift or hit your order as per the exchange algorithm?

this looks at first glance to be quite an old document. Macfutures dont exist any more as they were bought out years ago by Refco
