Certain characters have been with us all of our lives. I have grown up with Bruce Forsythe.

He has been one of the banes of my life. I cannot stand the sight nor sound of the man.

If ever there was a good tv show to be seen it only needed the name of Bruce Forsythe to be in the programme for me not to turn it on. Unforunately, my sister loved him as much as I hated him, which made "Saturday Night at the Palladium" a sore point between us.

One of the good reasons for me coming to Spain was the hope that he would get out of my life, even though he was only a thousand miles away. Therefore, to learn that he has been made a knight, probably for drivng me out of the country, has not made me happy-
