Hello,

can someone explain to me how does the below scenario works?

Let's say there is a stock that closed at 5 dollars yesterday,
I place a pending order to buy 300 shares at 5.10 after closing time.
The day after the stock goes up to 5.20 during pre-market trading
and it opens at the bell at 5.20.

Would my order fill at 5.10 at the opening, or does the price has to
first come back down to 5.10 for my shares to be bought?

Thanks a lot
Nic

If your order was a limit order, it would either not be filled or filled at 5.10 or lower.

If your order was a stop order, it would be filled and likely be filled at about 5.20.

If your order was a stop limit order, it would either not be filled or filled at 5.10 or lower.
