Good one, even though somehow contradictory, because if they're not random, there might be a way to predict the (preprogrammed) behaviour.

What this guy says about people selling systems for slot machines could apply exactly to trading systems and similar.

All these videos are very interesting and even useful, not just for poker and casino games themselves, but for all the comparisons with trading.

Hi Travis,
There is one book I read 6 months ago and planning to read it again. (After first time I read it, I had 20 winning days in a row) It is Trading In The Zone by Mark Douglas.
Regards

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll download it from emule together with another book I have to read, by Larry Harris.

Actually I just found that I was already given the link to Harris' book.

So far it's good.

As I kept on watching, i found some problems with the script and with acting. Also, I didn't like some details, like the fish.

I started by giving it a rating of 11 out of 20 (20 being the worst), then went up to 10, but now, as it's almost finished, I am down to 13.

The movie is finished. It was less than 90 minutes long, but it was structured in a way that made it seem like 2 and a half hours.

It should be watched, but I am rating it 14.

Computers typically use functions to generate what seems to be random sequences of numbers (but in reality they're not, and only "pseudo random".) See e.g. here and here. So, while there's a deterministic (non truly random) function behind most computer's/slot machines random number sequences, it's nevertheless essentially impossible in practice for you to reverse engineer that mathematical reality from sampling the numbers. So hence what the guy says in the video is quite true -- you can have apparent randomness of results without it in reality being random as such.

Hope that helps. :)

Reminds me of BOT heavy days, whenever these bots are around winning is tough, now, pass me that Kalashnikov I have some BOTs to shoot

Watching this right now:

Totally commercial... not worth watching. Nicolas Cage does a lot of these commercial movies, but also good ones, so I had to check it out. I watched all of it, but I am not even rating it because it's not within my favorite movies (deserving a rating of less than 20). This is a movie that I call total crap: most of tom cruise's movies are like this one.

Their music.. I don't like, but the documentary is very well made. So well made that i'm watching the whole thing and doing research despite the fact that I don't like their music and never even heard of "the clash" before an hour ago. The most intriguing thing is how can so many people like "the clash" when their music is so bad.

The most interesting sentence so far is about at minute 4 of part 10 of 15:
"Mick was comfortable with success. Joe... wanted the band to be successful, but when it was successful he wasn't comfortable". That's what's most interesting about this documentary.

Very good also Part 12/15, minute 6.

It is well made and usually I like documentaries. Pretty much all movies that have steve buscemi are good.

This documentary talks about Matthew Shepard's murder. It talks about violence in the States: what surprises me is that people were surprised by this murder. The violence in the US is known (even movies show there's more violence there). I remember when I was in college, the students used to be targeted by townies. They ran after us with baseball bats and knives, for no particular reason. And this seems to be the case everywhere in the States. Occasionally, if you're walking on the side of the road, you'll see some kids driving by and yelling something at you - that is the normality. Once these two townies threw a bottle at me. I mean: the kids in the US are far more violent than in Italy. Especially when they're riding a car and can get away with it so easily. From this point of view, the US totally sucks. Of course not all people are like this, but there's a much higher probability of these things happening than here.

In the states, there's much more diversity than in italy and differences are wider. I mean, there's gay rights and similar, and civilized people like in Boston (where I studied) or in San Francisco, and they're more civilized, honest and generous than Italians, but then, a few steps away, you'll have ignorant people, who'll throw bottles at strangers as they drive by. If one could live on a college campus forever, the US would be a pretty good place to be. But even college campuses have their share of fraternities and other such idiots (not all of fraternities are full of idiots, but most of them are).

Hi Travis,

If you really like gambling then I recommend learning how to set dice and go to a casino and play craps. I do that several times a year and am somewhat successful doing it. You won't get rich, but it is tons of fun when you have a table full of people excited and cheering because they are beating the casino. Also craps has the best odds in the casino if you make the right bets.

Peace out,
Jah Dave

Yes, thanks for the advice and information. I was actually showing gambling videos, because it has many similarities with my compulsive trading, which I am trying to cure.

Then my youtube search took an interesting detour, as I noticed that casinos (slot machines, poker, etc.) provide many useful analogies for trading.
