J'accuse

Perhaps you amend your suggestion to the following:

The Trade2Win staff officially admit that SOCRATES was not banned in accordance with common sense and application of the site rules, but instead was unfairly censored due to the petty jealousies of a certain member of the Trade2Win staff, who we shall call Dull Commercial Vehicle.

Given the collective conduct of the membership and the staff here, I do not feel inclined to contribute anything of value. I restrict my comments only to intervention in newbie threads, where a sincere aspirant is at risk of being corrupted by the intellectual dishonesty espoused by members and permitted by the staff.

I do not speak for SOCRATES, but am certain that you all are sorely mistaken if you think you can entice true experts back to these boards to generously contribute hard earned knowledge. I get it right nearly all the time, am profitable every trading day, and can correctly forecast the instruments which I trade. I am not sharing this knowledge with anyone. I do not speak for other members, but can see from past posts that SOCRATES, Skimbleshanks, and mr.marcus can do this also. I do not see that they would ever return to assist those who are so obviously unsuitable for this profession, whether various bans are lifted or otherwise.

None of you will benefit as your collective conduct has been inappropriate and disrespectful. It would be good if the staff had the balls to admit that SOCRATES was banned unfairly. Nevertheless I am quite certain that those of us who hold the knowledge you all seek are quite content to remain shtum.

As for the owners of this site and their employees, paid or otherwise: perhaps you should take this opportunity to reflect on whether one of your number was given undue latitude in being permitted to ban a very wise and experienced gentleman who had done much to raise the awareness of serious aspirants. Perhaps the staff member who decided the ban was acting due to a personal agenda and not impartially enforcing forum rules.

Nothing you can do can change the fact that I, and others, know exactly how to trade and get it right nearly all the time, to the great benefit of us all, and to the exclusion of those who have not earned the right. The actions of the site staff have led to the truly experienced traders withdrawing from the site and ceasing to contribute. You must bear responsibility for your decisions. Are aspiring traders better off without the advice of SOCRATES, Skimbleshanks, and Mr Marcus? No matter, as long as the advertising revenue keeps coming. And I forgot to add: we can all do what you cannot do, which serves to stimulate rage in those who are not suitable. Goodbye.)

I don't think anyone would expect you to.

Let's face it - you/Socco could do people a big favour by telling people what not to do. It is hard not to fall foul of all the mis-information out there when you start out. Some people keep on plugging away in this vain thinking they are the problem when in fact, the problem is they have been given bogus information.

The problem is, the bogus information industry pays handsomely and it is paid for by losing traders money. In fact, you could argue that all advertising is paid for by losing traders money.

Which then leads you to a circular issue of a site proclaiming to tell you how to trade being sponsored by people who make money from people not knowing how to trade.
 
I don't think t2w has ever claimed to teach people how to trade; the entire point is to be a social site for traders. Similarly et, or (obligatory plug :p) prop boards. Of course some of that involves sharing strategies but that isn't always possible.

The advertising is an amusing diversion.

The reality is that short term trading is liquidity driven, long term trading is event driven, and investing is fundamentally driven. I suspect one could construct a reasonably good 4 dimensional frontier here (4th dimension, in true einstinan fashion, being time) All the rest comes from that and one need not pay to find this out.
 
I dont think lifting the ban would assist anyone at this stage. The damage is done.

T2W should either have the decency to offer a full and public appology for their stupidity is allowing this situation to occur, or alternativly the integrity to delete all of Mr Socco's posts. I suspect we'll see neither, and the inevitable decine will continue.

Just to note that Socrates would not have been banned if he had heeded warnings to behave himself. He chose not to do so. In fact he was treated pretty leniently because his early contributions had been so valuable and he was given many warnings when others would have been promptly banned without more ado.

Worth listening to, or not. Top trader, or not - and I once saw Socrates run up a consecutive sequence of over 50 winning trades - if people will not behave properly on the boards then so be it.

You know as well as I do that a ban was inevitable, and it was nothing to do with his behaviour. People are constantly banned because they refuse to comply with the sites true adgenda.

Anyone whose trading for a living knows that the odd's are very firmly stacked against the average market participant. From a moral perspecive pointing that out might arguably be the kindest thing to do, but it isnt really in the sites best interest.

This is the fundemental cause of the problem that T2W faces. A vast number of members join the site hoping to obtain an insight, and on the very few occassions that anyone parts with any sort of information of real value, its always going to be damaging to the sites true adgenda.

Lets also not forget, banned members have been reinstated. The Bramble was banned, Wasp was banned, then reinstated by the sites community manager, only to be banned again for alledgedly posting kiddie porn. Its not that there isnt a precedant for lifting a ban for members who are judged to have contributed to the success fo the forum.

The truth is that Mr Socco's posts are detrminental to the interests of T2W. I have no problem at all with T2W protecting their own interests, even if that means banning quality contributors, we all have to make a living. I do however object to the hypocrisy of banning a member under false pretenses, and then promoting his threads and posts as "quality content"

By all means ban Mr Socco, ridicule to man if it helps further your commercial adgenda, but at least have the integrity to delete his posts. Alternatively, do the right thing and issue an applogy.

I cant see the point of T2W management continuing to suffering this purgetory every time Mr Socco's ghost is resurected. It really is a self inflicted wound that needs treatment.

We've been down this road many times and I know anything from me is pretty much a complete waste of time since you seem totally fixated on the "truth" as you see it.

However, that "truth" is totally unrecognisable to me as a moderator - volunteer, unpaid and not part of T2W management. All I can tell you is that I have NEVER been asked to moderate to any instruction other than the guidelines and that I have been left alone to make moderating decisions - for good or ill - without ANY interference whatsoever from T2W management. The only time management become involved in moderating issues - aside from reporting posts - is when legal action, or the threat of it, is involved.

There have been many moderators over the years and they will all tell you the same thing, but I doubt that will cut much ice with you.

None of this, of course, is to say that the moderating has always been spot on. I hope, on balance, that we have got much more right than we have got wrong.

Amazing really that we have Options and all the religious crap but someone that can trade and also 'has a bit of a personality' isn't allowed on.
