I am a really green trader, actually I want to learn to trade the FX market, however I know very little.
I ran across an ad on craigs list for Maverick Trading. I was wondering if anyone has delt with this company. They are A rated with the BBB, no complaints and been registered for over 10 years.
I have searched around some and have found very little on this company. They seem to offer alot for for a newbie. $800 plus $200 per month for training from the ground up. They talk teaching you to be a "professional trader" as opposed to a "retail trader", sounds like a great pitch (love to be sold something).

They sent me a webnar that I liked alot. My spouse who wants me to make a career change listened and came away with a much different opinion.

So does anyone know about this company, anyone using them, weather they are consistant and profitable?

Also I am looking for a program that can start me from 0 knowledge to educated and ready to test the waters.

I appreciate any info that anyone might have to offer.

Thanks Fiatdave

Bump.

I too would like to know if anyone has had an experience with this company.

Seems sorta scam-ish.

I have had great results so far. I have passed my tests & have qualified to trade their funds. I would be happy to share my experience and unbias opinion, if you would like to send me an email at [email protected]. I am not a Maverick Trading employee.:)

Watch this video. This will help you!

It sums up brokers, prop houses and people who say they will teach you!
The truth of trading success is that you are on your own - like it or not!

Sorry, krisskross, to hear about that. I haven't had any funding problems. I have been trading with them since September. It always sad to hear these sad stories. Hopefully you have found another company to work with. There's plenty of money out there to be had....especially in today's market.:|

If you can tell me how to show my account without giving out my username, I will show it to you. I guess I could scan a copy of my last beginning & ending balance. I don't know the details of why you didn't get funding & you don't know the details of my story. So, I THINK YOU SHOULDN'T ASSUME THAT YOU KNOW MY STORY. BECAUSE YOU DON'T.

It looks like it would be a waste of my time to send anything to you anyway. You would think that I made it up. And that I doctored the statement and that I doctored up my bank statement. So, what's the point?

I passed all their tests took all their classes and when it was time to fund my account I got the run around and yes it is sad that of all the other members I spoke too not one had received money. I highly doubt that you have either. Show me your joint account that supposedly exists. everyone I talked to is trading their own money and is in the exact same boat as me. I didnt have all the start up capital hence the reason I fell for their pitch and empty promises. Im sure your just the guy who is supposed good stuff when someone gives an actually REAL review

I think you're the right thing by not responding. To tell someone you've never met before that they're lying. It kind of puts a bad reflection on you. I hope that you have a better day.

If you weren't funded, How did you get contact info of 45 people that had the same problem. I am with Maverick & the only contact I have is with my coach.

Don't you just love the anonymous internet! I am the current head trader of Maverick Trading and posts like this are always frustrating. We have been in business for over 14 years and have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We always try to give our traders everything they need to be successful and provide them with a positive trading environment. We strive to be perfect but of course we always fall short. I tell our members that the best thing you get with Maverick is that we all ALL traders...The worst thing you get with Maverick is that we are ALL traders who sometimes fall short when it comes to paperwork, etc.

We have never had a trader come aboard, pass the tests and not have a live trading account funded. I have sent a private message to Krisskross808 asking him/her to identify themselves and please give any proof/validity to their claims. When we bring traders aboard, we have the same philosophy in our trades. Hold your winners and cut your losers. Do we have some traders that don't make money? Sure. These traders typically overtrade, mismanage positions, take poor position sizing, etc. Even though we have people go through a qualification program where they must learn proper position sizing and trade management principles by taking and passing our tests, once they go live they throw it all away and trade like an amateur. We do cut these traders and I would only assume Krisskross808 is one of these who is now stating that since they didn't make any money than no one can.

We recently held our yearly trading expo in Las Vegas and we had close to 60 of our traders fly in from around North America to get together with all the other traders. Would 60 people take time and fly to Vegas is they weren't happy with their trading experience within the firm.

Anyway, as we tell everyone before they join our firm, do you full due diligence and if you decide that we aren't the firm for you, then we wish you the best of luck in your trading. There are not many negative things out there about us especially when you realize we have been in business for so long. Hopefully people can see the difference between a true review and someone with a bad attitude.

For anyone who has any questions, feel free to contact us at [email protected].

Head Trader

Thank you!!! TruthBeTold, I greatly appreciate this information.
I am a recent college graduate, Finance degree, and I LOVE trading, and following the markets.
I was seriously thinking about joining Maverick, and now this is all I needed to make my decision.
Thank you, I do not have much money, its hard to find a decent job in todays economy, and it doesnt look any brighter in the future (economy)....SO I, and anybody else considering these, is better off saving your money, and ivesting it yourself!! With the 4,500 (average) charge for training, and the 5,000 down fee to join as a "Member" it is ridiculous to invest in 'them' when you could use that money to buy at-the-money options to invest in whatever Jim Kramer advices!!!!

Good luck Trading!

Thank you for the info. I've been contemplating on joining Maverick for a couple of months now. I believe this just saved me the headache and heartache. Thanks again.

Hello Everyone,

The lovely, anonymous internet strikes again. We encourage anyone looking into joining us to do their due diligence and make sure we are the right fit for them. However, posts from KrissKross make it difficult to do real research. We would hope that someone looking into the firm would consider the internet posts on a website aren't always fact. KrissKross808 was a former recruiter of ours who left to set up a competing FX firm, using our exact business model. However, don't take our word for it. We recommend that if you really want to look into the firm you should private message everyone who has made posts on this thread and ask for more information. There are both positive and negative posts and I challenge you to contact the sources and find out who contacts you back. In addition, we recommend you go onto our Facebook page and send private emails to some of our current traders and ask questions and get a good idea of whether our traders are happy with being part of our firm. In all of our years in business (we started in 1997), there has not been anyone who hasn't received funding.

As I said earlier, we have been in business since 1997 and have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We clearly state on our trader progression levels that every trader starts with 4X1 leverage and earns higher capital levels upon profitable trading. We believe in being transparent and spend lots of time with prospective traders answering any questions they may have.

We hope that anyone seriously looking into joining our firm will do some real due diligence and not just come across a post from a former recruiter who is trying to build a competing business and take it for fact. If after your due diligence, you decide we are not the firm for you, we wish you the best of luck.

As always, I am always available for questions and we wish everyone the best of success. Send me a private message or send an email to [email protected]

Thanks,
Robb Reinhold

Most scams or on craiglist! Ok?? Enough said, if its not a scam, its not on craiglists!
That's due diligence for you "buddy," google their name, without finishing typying the complete 'name' you will see the "scam" come up as one of the most popular searches, that means its a scam!!!
If you search up Goldman Sachs, or any other Legitimate firm, then nowhere does "scam" pop up in popular searches!!!!!
If you still can't make up your mind about that, then good luck, you'll need it.
They want to charge thousands of dollars, for some information you get for free online.
This is ridiculous, these guys should be arrested and tried for their scams.
Why else would it ONLY be on Craigslist??? why?
If it was legit...

We recruit through many sources. We recruit through Career Builder, Monster.com, Craigslist and Albourne Village. We also recruit at the Trader Expos held several times per year. We just returned from the Dallas Trading Expo where several of our management team spoke on topics such as "Trading a Basket of Options Positions" and "Creating a Delta Neutral Portfolio".

We have also been featured on the CNBC website several times and have inked a book deal with McGraw Hill Publishing. Here is the press release.

I love how a business started in 1997 with an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau is surely a scam. It's funny that If you put in Goldman Sachs Scams in Google, you will get hundreds of hits...I don't totally disagree with Google on this one. Haha.

Anyway, we wish everyone success in their trading.

Its a scam,I dont have too much time to waste with this scammers, they have all the time in the world.
Go to Google.com, type in Bank of america, or Goldman Sachs, you will get (before you are done typing) careers, locations,etc....not scams!!!
Type in Maverick T--- (just the T), and scam pops up as the second most researched!!!!
Proof enough for me!! Try it out!!
Trust me, if this isn't proof enough, then go ahead, give your money to them. After all, its not my money, why should I care??
I'm just trying to save some people's hard earned money, in this economy, its stupid to throw away your money like that!!!
This recession was Worst than the Great Depression, it will be admitted years from now, invest your own money, there is no better lesson, than a loss!!

Rob,

Where do training session happen. Is it only online? Are there live-in-person classes?
