More SPX short covering rally possible next week.
As mentioned, once the burnt shorters have all covered (ie bears losing money while propelling the market higher) the next Wile E. Coyote collapse will occur as buyers suddenly evaporate.
This has happened before, it's how previous SPX crashes have formed.
Central bank intervention news / rumours can of course distort or reverse this scenario.

Markets are still anticipating more Bernanke / Draghi intervention : Jackson Hole Aug 30 and ECB early Sept.

Substantial EURUSD buying and USDX selling supports stocks once again thus causing more SPX short covering.

So it should roll over soon and then presumably rescued via QE3 before the US elections.
