short .1 at 8475 limit 8410

Still wondering why I didn't put in an entry short at 8495 limit 8455, as game rules would dictate... must have had serious sleep deprivation probs yesterday...

smbtnt

I'm in the office... can't trade here, just watch and enjoy the fireworks...

Can anyone see USD/GBP falling back to 1.8000 on NFP? or is the $ just going to lay down and die? why the £ is so strong is crackers, the state of the UK, the government shagging everyone (even the DPM) come on $ get your balls and teach the £ a lesson and get back to 1.7070 where you belong.

Still thinking about it

I think final attempt make it or break if not this this time then it might be a new trend setting in

I came out with a a couple of pips...I cannot play the patience game....I will trade after the range is broken either way........
Take care all you bears

Just got home...

1st: there IS a .1 short at 8494, must have missed it in my morning position write-up.

Unloaded the top safety net .2 at 8480 for 25 pips --> 266 + 25 = 291pips

reinstalled safety net .4 in .1 lots at 8480, redtabbed them "no touchie"

Increased my hurdle entries at 8510 to .3 (added 2x .1, one limited to 8593, the other to 8573)

Can't say I have the impression real pressure exists to vault 8500 but this thumbtwiddling at the gates is nervewracking. Is there an 800pound gorilla of stops on the other side? :|

All three .1 longs activated, fat lady tiptoed across 8500 (just when I was raiding the fridge :( )

Now she's off the leash! :D She just ground the opposition down :cheesy:

I am confused with the open positions bit.
( I dont want to go back and try to find posts.)
I am making an assumption that "open positions" are trades carried over from previous day, with possibly altered limits, as the nature of the market may have changed, which is understandable, so limits may have to alter to reflect that.

So, I am trying to follow the trades from today onwards. ( for simplicity )
So, over a period of time, hopefully my calcs will stabilise and accurately reflect the situation.
( probably better to start this on Monday morning ! )

reason for doing this: although 4 positions have resulted in 138 pips, there are 3 short positions, with, at 8480, a combined open loss exceeding the gains of today. I need to get my head around how "open positions", or trades carried over may resolve this over a period of time.
( a dip to 8410 will close two of those shorts for a profit, and reduced exposure, which is entirely feasible )

anyway, TODAYS trades resulted in +138. certainly a good start.

( I have to say, the idea of having trades that trigger buys and sells on different levels reminds me of camarilla, where bounces off some levels are treated as range-moves, and moves beyond certain levels are treated as breakouts. :) )
its also interesting how a wide enough range play results in opposing positions are generated resulting in controlled losses, eg, when a buy triggers later on to offset a sell earlier, or vice-versa.
