Lightspeed & Interactive Brokers Question

Hello,

I'm thinking about switching to Lightspeed or Interactive Brokers for daytrading stocks.

Someone that formerly used IB for daytrading mentioned that on scalping breakout type trades at the open, Interactive Brokers would many times give horrible fills or no fills at all and he would get a lot of slippage. Does anyone here have experience with IB on those type of setups and if so please share your experience?

Does anyone here trade with Lightspeed on an individual account using their per share plan? They have a Refer a Friend Program where if you refer people you and your referrals monthly volume would be grouped together to get a lower per share pricing rate. I'm basically looking for someone that already has an account with Lightspeed that can refer me so we can possibly qualify for cheaper pricing with our combined volume.

Thanks

The fills are entirely down to the liquidity of the stock being traded as IB do not act as a bucket shop and hence add no spread.

Thanks for your response Trader333. Forgot to mention he thought the IB software was not fast and execution was slow. And thats probably the reason why he said he was getting no fill or bad fills and slippage.

Do you have any thoughts on IB's software speed and execution and how it might impact fills on scalps & fast breakout type plays, especially when using hotkeys.

Thanks

I have not traded stocks for quite some time but when I did the fills were good but then it would also depend on how liquid the stocks were. I am unable to comment on how it is now.
