IB second user id

Has anyone else tried this? I wanted to set up a second IB userid, which can be done through the account management section of IB's website. This will be in my name, for my account, which has been open for a number of years, but they are requesting a full set of id documentation. When I have queried this, they tell me that this is because my account has been open for over three years.

This defies explanation.

JonnyT is right , If you want to open another account even UK Banks and Building Societies need proof of identity,. even if you have been with them all your life and they now you by your first name!

Strangely, after having been told that I needed to supply (repeat) identification documentation by IB in the UK, the additional login was activated within a couple of hours (without me supplying any additional information).

I can only conclude the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing ........
