How to make money with the stock market?

Hello all,

Is there a "science" which studies how to make money with the stock market? I am asking because I have been creating models for the last couple of years, some of them appear to be good but when it is time to make real money, it falls flat. Some of my model can make pretty good predictions (75% of good calls -- but the 25% remaining hurts) but I can't figure out how to use those calls to make real money.

- When you create your models, what are you trying to predict: slope, trend, value?
- Is there a book/class/subject that you would recommend to understand how to make money on the stock market?
- Where can I find a list of strategies?

There is no such thing as a great working model because think about it, how much would it be worth?
Just too many variables in the market,end of.

These "models" you've created... have you forward tested them on demo accounts or merely backtested to create them then risk real money on forward test?

Also, do your models require a reasonably-sized stop or are you using huge stops? If you need huge stops in order to be profitable, bearing in mind that 25% of the time they ruin your account, then your system isn't very good - try to get better entries that require smaller stops.
