Does anyone have any experience with investing at Lloyd's? I can't find any good info on how you actually get your foot in the door.

As a general member of public, it seems that the main route into the insurance underwriting market is by buying into a Lloyds limited liability vehicle from one of the four members' agents:

What is the minimum amount an individual can put in?
Are you liable for any more than what you put in?
What sort of returns on your investment are typical?

Any experience someone could share would be appreciated ....

Didn't some pretty bad things happen a few years ago to people who had underwritten there ?

No liability limits etc if I remember half way correctly ?

Sounds like a great business model for Lloyds, but seems like a pretty flawed risk / reward ratio for the underwriters if the model hasn't changed since.
