How to "fight" with software developers?

In may be not clear from the title what I wanna say, but I don't know how to explain it in another way.

I mean you are trading and then suddenly something goes wrong and you know that it could only be some kinda bug.

So what to do in such situation?
Is there any way out?

Is this a bug in some bespoke software you have commissioned?

or is it a bug in some off the shelf software you have licensed?.

Or are we talking about a bug in the software provided by your broker?
