Really unfair banning those that have served their time and are now clean. The Russians are good enough not to need drug enhancements anyway.

To be fair Rio as a tourist destination is great (with an armed escort) the statue (and view from) Christ The Redeemer is simply incredible... however with Zika virus worries and the general unpredictable nature of the local favela populations I'm in no hurry to return.

I also agree with the "total mess" comment.

I would not risk having a child born that way. We have one case in Barcelona, already, I don't know the details, but have seen what the baby looks like. Poor little devil! No way, would I take that risk for the sake of a few games. Even as a participant, as the high point of one's career, one would have to put sport before family.

I was referring to all the crime, the unfinished dorms and the fecal sea water swimmers will have to swim in, actually. And then there's the Zika virus too.

I saw pictures of the really disgusting sewage in the bay waters where the sailing races are going to be held. The IOC should have inspected the facilities 6 months ago and cancelled the games on this sort of issue imho.

It's a terrible shame. These countries have advantages that the Asiatics don't have and they are not appreciated. The place is a slum in the middle of what should be a paradise.

Exactly. They told the swimmers to swim their mouths closed. It's unreal, have they seen how professionals swim? I am certain that before the end of the games there will be sick people.
