The Eurozone and the Euro are doomed.

I said this years ago on the basis that so many different countries and cultures are just not a good mix.

And I still hold that view.

Yes, it is absolute and complete nonsense.

Guys you are jumping on the band wagon to make an obtuse point with no foundation.

What you say is partially true where you have a dominant race with one minority.


Where you have a multicultural society where no race has dominance - things work a treat.

Look at Canada or USA?


Other part I agree with European single currency and interest rates inflexible - which isn't always a bad thing.

Let's not forget that each participant country abused financial markets and risk management over extending. I didn't say anything about fraud and bad practices.

if you get all one culture and pack them close togehter, you only have a few big potatoes in the world and the surface area of friction is quite small. But if you mix up all the cultures in lots and lots of small potatoes, there is lots of friction all over the place.

My reply is no there isn't. What makes USA great is the different cultures and mixes. Canada's the same with the exception of the stuck up Quebecan's but even there it's touch and go and things are moving against them as people recognise they work better as part of a bigger community.

Same for London. One of the coolest places in the world and it's ALL the habitants that make it. Not just the English.

In all honesty I could not stand being in any part of the world dominated by one race. How dull would that be?

I loath nationalism. Anybody who sells their culture to the demise of any other is an idiot imho. Look at the German's rejecting multiculturalism yet they are a dying race with falling birth rates and aging popullation. French so touchy about theirs too and so stuck up about losing their language they set rules about what music radio broadcasters play. Apparently not many people want to listen to French vocals preferring the Englaise... :cheesy:

next, its about surface area. Like get 2 massive potatoes, a black potatoe and a white potato. If you keep them as one, and put them in the bowl to peel them, they only touch over a very small surface area - a tiny amount of the black potato and the white potato are mixing.

Now, chop each potato into 8ths, and put them back in the bowl. The surface area where black potato is touching white potato is more!

conflict comes from difference in beliefs. bundle everyone with the same beliefs in teh same potato and youll have less arguments from potato to potaot. You prolly get more intra-potato arguments but similar principal applies.

So what I am sayin is that, if you put all the people in the world and coloured them with their beliefs (like the raindow), and let everyone mince about until they found theire happy place, looking down on it from the sky would look like a spectrum; it wouldnt all be higgledy piggeldy of all colours of beliefs everywhere, the reds would stand next to the yellows, then the pinks and then the greens. After that the purples, the oranges and then the blues.

And america IS a bad example (and Canada) because they are both a nation of immigrants.

I'm a supporter of the EU and the economic prosperity should have been worth the pains, however the banksters and political elite have ruined it by putting their greed first, not the ordinary citizens of Europe who are blameless beyond a very small section living beyond their means. These bailouts are to bail out banks, not countries.

No mention in the MSM that the US of A has been downgraded this week, good time to announce a few troops are coming home..

Just a small issue but highlights a 'shift'; I'll bet Boeing aren't happy with the recent Airbus order to the BRICS..The days of USA imperialism may be coming to an end, gonna get very ugly..What did DSK know, what was he *threatening*?

The Euro 'issue' is a sideshow for the gullible. Already the Greeks en masse have got it, Spainards too, they are waking up to the fact that these austerity measures are to ensure the asset wealth of 0.1% of the G7 is ring fenced at the expense of socialising the insoluble debt onto the masses...we are not "all in this together"..
