Just had an email to say that fxpro has moved to an agency model. No dealing room intervention, no conflict.

Is this as good as it sounds or is there a catch ?

I'll believe FXPRO is any good when pigs fly - outta my ass!

From the email I received

Following on from last year's successful launch of FxPro cTrader (ECN platform), the full transition from market making to an agency model on all of FxPro's platforms is the final step in totally aligning its interests with those of its clients.

Client orders are sent directly to FxPro's global pool of liquidity providers with spreads from 0 pips on cTrader ECN - with upfront commissions, and spreads with small mark-ups on MT4 – with no commissions. The execution model is seamless and FxPro's clients can trade with the confidence that their broker is working with them and for them at all times

I think it means that requotes and dodgy practices should not occur. I don't know if this will happen in practice. That's why I was wondering what the catch is ?

If this new agency model is going to be more profitable than their previous model, why don't all brokers change?

They are a wolf in sheep's clothing.

But having slaughtered a few sheep (forex newbies) the wolf can now afford to change its overcoat for a new one.

They do that all the time. Sheep's clothing is the preferred outfit of forex brokers.
