Futures, Spreads and Index

Hiya

I thought I understood futures and spreads in that I would expect them to lay the same side of the index, however I've just seen the following for the FTSE

bloomberg future: 5812
igindex spread: 5871 - 5877
FTSE index: 5854

Why is there such a large gap between the spread and the future - is this an indicator?

Any insight would be much appreciated

at what time did you make that comparison ?

Index closes at 4:30
IG close at 9pm on fridays but is their Index equivalent taken from Futures less Fair Value. Futures close at 9pm

Bloomberg will be the Futures Market quote. probably June Expiry
