Hello Forum,

I am residing in India and i am a active trader here with the NIFTY index.

I would like to trade the FTSE. Could you please suggest some broker with international support.

Also I am looking for some details of the way of trading in the FTSE and a FAQ that shows the difference / similarities between the FTSE / NIFTY.

Thanks in advance.

On the CFDS they offer pretty good rates and as long as you Internet trade they are broadly ok. I also think they take on clients worldwide and you don't need a UK bank account. Customer services is ok as well. BUT I dont think they are the cheapest.

ukdaytrader,

Thanks for the update.i am not looking for some high end service. i think i would suffice my startup needs.

If there are people with a simple trading terminal reeal time data with no tech. anlysis and is much cheaper it would be more preferrable.

I hear a lot of noise about CFDS in the internationl market and i do not see any such thing here in india. can you please let me know what they are.

Have you traded in any international markets? have you tried trading in NIFTY.

If you plan to trade please feel free to ping me.

Thanks once again.

Murali.

I'm not in India yet but aim to be if the trading works out ok. I figure if I could make around £500 a day then I could live like a king in India instead of here in the UK where I still have to clean the toilet no matter how much money you earn. Not sure if the wife will agree, if not I think I will leave her here in the UK to clean the toilet and I will try and find a mistress over there.

I use IG, there are hundreds of different instruments - check out their site from options, futures, daily options, direct index access etc. They also have web seminars so if you're new to this then have a look.

Better off reading a few books if you dont know options / futures - hull is the better one if you are mathematically minded.

Don't know Indian options and IG don't provide options access to equity options unfortunately.

CFD's are better if you can do the math.

i happen to do some research regarding the CFDs. I am of the understanding that they are just like the future contracts for some underlying instrument only that they do not have a expiry.

please correct if am wrong. This CFds sound great.

I am hoping that this will be implemented in the india brousers some day.

Can you please let me know the contract size, contract cost and the brokerage for trading a unit CFD for FTSE 100 in Igmarkets; so that i can do my calculation for the entry in to the market.

I happen to have a look at Hull. Just browsed. need to have a look into it. but any way options are a little risky.

I have a collection of tech analysis books -- softcopy -- with me. if you want any please let me know.

if you go to igmarkets they have a great manual that is free to read.. It explains quite a lot of what is going on.

The hull is useful to understand how cfd's work if you look at the futures sections.
