Somebody mentioned it on here a while back. All i know is it released
some time this year about 1 of the major US trading floors. Shows the thick
of the action on the trading floor.

Mike, hadn't heard of that at all. Not a great fan of Covel who for years sold some freely invented stuff about the Turtles that he had absolutely no connection with as the real thing, even though I do respect that he has created a franchise and a living working for himself pretty much out of blue air, but gosh, all of a sudden quite a lot of new trading films out...

BBC I think it was had some series on too was it last year I think, about some hedge fund manager training and funding some people fresh off the street.

Here's one I watched last night.

Two for the Money.
Al Pacino.

The film itself doesn't always hang together....but there are moments in it which are pure gold. Pacino carries it to a large extent.

Sounds good too CV, haven't seen that either yet. Pacino is always excellent, absolutely loved him in Scent of a Woman and The Devils Advocate.

I used to find him interesting, but don't read his website as often as I used to.

Someone here posted a link to a Canadian(?) TV drama series about trading. It was pretty good too, what I saw of it. I have it bookmarked somewhere, but perhaps a search of this site will reveal it easily enough, assuming that the link still works.

Oh yes, I saw part of that BBC series. Somewhat artificial I seem to remember, but I wouldn't mind seeing it again if it was ever shown.

I would also recommend watching Trader: The documentary (1987) about Paul Tudor Jones predicting the market crash. It's very interesting, but difficult to find (I heard once that he is trying to get rid of any copies, not sure how true that is or why he is bothered with doing that). I won't post a link as it won't stay live for long, but if you do a google search you will find a version you can watch. Well worth a free one hour to watch.

The docs are great. About the German, I think you can put on auto subtitles translated. Watch it on youtube and check it out. not perfect but not terrible.

About that German video, Birger Schäfermeier is the real deal allright, regularly does live trading with a 100k account he uses for that.

No hiding behind behind non-substantiable woulda-coulda-shoulda calls there as some are wont to do in lack of a real life haha.

Had a bit of rollercoaster ride in his career starting out, got his initial trading stakes from organizing parties while at Uni.

I met Richard Hill a couple of times as he was friends with my father. When they filmed this he was going through a nasty divorce. Note at 1.32 when hes on the phone hes sat on the floor with no furniture. She took the lot! Naughty Boy!
