As we all know playing fixed odds is a lesson in frustration.

The Fixed odds Financials package -static and moving odds was developed by Cantor Fitzgerald and then sold on to participating betting houses. What those houses soon learnt was the punters were getting even odds to make money or lose not like their casino's or games where the houses win, win and win.
List of betting places that use Cantor's program.

Ladbrokes - will cut you off as soon as you make any decent money. They will freeze the screens, or restrict you to moving odds while lowering your bet stack until it is nothing.

Bet Victor - signed up briefly with Cantor but as far as I can tell they have dropped financials.

Red 32 - same as Bet Victor, only lasted at Red 32 several months..

Party bets (poker) - Will reduce the amount you can bet over time.

Bet 188 - As soon as you make any cash they will restrict you even after 1 day.

Other platforms.

Bet 365 - Restricted within a few weeks

William Hill - Restricted after making 50 pounds - don't know if they still have financials - their web site is a mess. IMHO.

Paddy Power- The best of the bunch - very fair with their system, others may have had different experiences.

I believe most of these houses view Financial betting as one platform and one profit or loss for that item. What they don't get is the players who have a good days trading usually have a fling on their casinos afterwards and probably lose a good amount of what they made. If they saw it as a big picture and how it brings in punters then I'm certain these stupid restrictions wouldn't happen so quickly. What I do know, is that by making this whole process so frustrating and senseless they are driving customers away.

Financial fixed odds betting - a great idea but badly executed by the betting houses that sign up for it.

If I have missed any others please add to this post and share your experiences.

Thanks.

Good post thanks,

I have found that bet365 and ladbrokes (flavours of too) limit very quickly, but haven't used for a while, please let me know if they have changed policy. One account with bet365 did act like Igmarkets for a few months and was very lucky. Igmarkets is rock solid for a long time (only had 1 account limited) William hill is OK and will limit after approx. £1000 in winnings at the site. Paddy power used a floating up/down when I tried them so not good for me, if this has changed please let me know.

Yes they are all gone. Cantor and the firms using their services didn't have the decency to put out a press release stating this.

Paddy Power still have a 'virtual market' up which appears to be the financials equivalent of betting on the cartoon horses in the bookies.

Bet365 still offer financials but as previously stated they restrict pointlessly quickly.

There is definitely an opportunity there for someone to create the industry standard binary options product.
It feels like the default thing we'll all end up using doesn't yet exist

Well IG came closest with their Custom Bets platform which allowed expiry times to be tailored to individual bets, but they closed that last year and now they only offer the inferior Sprint markets where expiry times are just a set of seemingly arbritary presets.

So there is definitely an opportunity for a new player to step in and offer the kind of customisable quality product IG used to offer but no longer do.
