Hello!
I'm relatively new to trading, and was wondering if anyone knew what a "fade" is? I'm currently reading some literature, and they keep referring to "fades". I'm slightly unfamiliar with them. Thanks in advance for the help.

It's very straightforward, it is exactly the same as trading the exhaustion of a move.

Traders wait for the exhaustion & trade the reversal, or fade if you like.

Do not be fazed by terminology like fade or whatever, or any such new guff..... there is a move, if you catch it, happy days, if not, wait for the "fade" & trade it

ps if you catch the initial move, you are trading the "fade" of the last leg

round goes the wheel

Huh, this is the first time I have heard this term. I suppose one learns something new every day.

Thank you so much tokyojoe! xD And the latter part of your statement mlawson71 is so true. Thanks for making me feel welcomed guys. I've been trading for a while, but I just now really started getting the hang of things. I thought I'd join this forum to help with my knowledge building and sharing. I'm already glad I did. Yea, I was looking at the graphs my superiors had posted on fades, and I kinda figured that's what they were, but I just wasn't sure. I wanted to make sure before I rushed to any assumptions. Thanks again for the help.

Markets cycle.......up them down......rarely straight lines

Fading is where you attack a trade as momentum weakens to a stop on a move

The expectation is a reversal will happen.......

After a lot of stress for me :( I've found that I'm not suited to trading with the trend. My personality is for immediate and fast profits (even if small).
It's taken me years to realize this.

I'm now working on fading stretched price action with limited price objectives ie winner or losers immediately.

Can anybody share any expected win rates and profit objectives either in public or private message? I just need a starting point from where to work from.

Many Thanks

Fade the trade ..........have to be careful on those plays ......just in case its a fake ......

generally i'll wait for some more solid confirmation that the market is turning ......

I guess you have to understand it intuitively. But in terms of candlestick analysis it can be small "body" of a candlestick and long tail
