Can anyone please give me advice on emerald energy?
I'm not an investor, but 8 years ago I was encouraged to buy shares in EEN by a relative who has since passed away.
I'm not sure if I should sell them or keep hold of them in the hope they'll go up at some stage.
I would really appreciate any advice.
Thank you.

Emerald Energy seem to be moving nicely in an upward trend so far this year, you haven't said what you paid for them, yahoo charts don't go back that far, so unsure whether you are underwater or not on your initial purchase.

With most things like this they're moving with the general cost of oil / energy.

EEN were a very over hyped share on the bb's around the time of the tech boom in 1999/2000 and were, at that time, a penny stock - somewhere around 4p if I remember.

Looking at the price now I'd say that had been a 'reverse split' sometime since 2000 (or Mr DJ is now a very wealthy man :cheesy:).

My take would be to hold on to them as, if you have any kind of quantity, you could in some way benefit if oil and the like keeps on surging.

Steve.

:-0 but DNX is falling like a brick

I'm hoping that your wealthy man theory is correct here Steve, wouldn't that be nice :D

Emerald Energy

Many thanks for that guys.
I bought £2000 worth of shares back in 2000 at £2.75... so wealthy?.. sadly not.
I was concerned that they maybe a struggling player in the mining business, so I should sell and recover most of my initial investment.

I'm not an equities expert, so will not like to say whether you should hold or sell.

but with the price going up as it is on the chart, If I had a holding of EEN, then I would probably be holding at this time, but that's your choice, hopefully an equities expert may pop in to this thread and advise better than I.

If you haven't seen it already, check out their webby, this states that there was a stock consolidation in 04 amongst other useful info, that must be what Steve means by reverse split ?, as I say I don't follow shares as a rule so can't say, anyway good luck in whatever you decide to do.
