Hi everyone.

Looking for some career advice.
I've been following trading and the market now for about 2 years and slowing but surely becoming more addicted/involved with it.

Im a recent graduate and I've been offered two positions. one at an energy trading firm and another at a prop shop.

Not sure which one to pick.

I see the energy industry as fairly interesting. its Becoming more relevant these days with the shift away from renewables and all the regulation and technology advances that we are seeing as of late.

the energy trading job would be for one of the main generators/suppliers in my country. salary about 30+ but 9-5 working hours or so and a very solid pension/job security aspect.

the prop shop would be 7am-9pm. really bad salary for the first year until you trade live and after that 50/50 split i think moving up to 75/25 ish.

any advice is appreciated.

thanks

Massive difference in propshops and peoples definitions of a propshop- difficult to give advice without that information.

well the firm is based in Ireland so that narrows it down considerably. 1st year pay is f*** all while u learn and trade sim... then u go "live" and take about 50/50 split moving up to 70/30 -75/25 as far as i know. not sure whether there is a capital contribution needed... I have no reason to believe its a bucket shop but what do I know i suppose....
