Hi,

Anyone help me find an electronic broker with full access to Italian stocks and stock options at BorsaItaliana/IDEM in Milan?

Preferably but not necessarily with an English version web site. Thanks very much!

I come from Germany - Discount Brokerage Companies like DAB bank, CortalConsors, Comdirect offers Clients Cross Border Trading and as long as you are not an US resident (or from a blacklisted country) you'll be welcome there. Website and Trading tools are good enough to place orders on international exchanges.

If you wish i can do more research.

Thanks so much. I visited both the Cortal and Comdirect sites but find both rather incomplete, especially lacking a clear list of tradable products and available exchanges. I requested a Cortal info-pack by email but apparently there’s no immediate delivery.

If there’s anything you could clarify especially regarding Italian stock *options* (traded at IDEM) then that will be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

As an example, are you able to buy a Fiat option online ?

Well, I wanted to take a position yesterday but my current online broker appears unable to execute in Italy, so depending on the conditions I’d be happy to open an account a.s.a.p. BTW I am Dutch citizen.

What can I say? Some are there, some not :) But easy access to all those products would be a big leap forward. What would be the easiest way to access these? Electronic, preferably direct-access.

Again, I appreciate all your advice.

np - glad if i could assist.
To be honest, i'm not very skilled in Option/ Futures Trading, maybe this would be the next logical step after cfd and fsb trading ;-)

But what i can do is to do research which might be helpful to find the right broker for you.

The "easiest" way i believe is to trade directly @ EUREX.
You need a license and you have to pay a usage fee + a small amount of commission.

I think Interactivebrokers could be a proper partner for you. Their trading application is great and
fees and margins are low. Do you know them? There page is multilingual, it should be not to difficult
to get the needed informations.

I also can do some phone calls here to check, whether your options are tradable or not.
About which volume we are talking about? 1K or 100K ?

btw. I have good contacts to IB, if you'd be interested I could ask the IB guys what would be possible or not.

Let me know what you think

Hey, I’m sorry for the delay. I already have a small IB account, I checked and they have exactly three tradable products in Italy:

Italiana (IDEM) - Products and Exchanges

So much for "Gateway to the World's Markets"......... !!

But, I did find many “shadow products”, both stocks and options, on any of the German exchanges, be it these often appear less liquid.

So you provided me with some very useful information I wasn’t aware of and for the moment I think I can find my way. Allow me to pick up the thread again if necessary.

Thank you dewitte for the update.

And sure, call me whenever there is a need. If I do not respond pls PM me ;-)

Good luck with all your trades m8!
