Do traders have a good (as in statistically significantly better then the mean) sense of humor?

not sure why a trader would mean you have a good sense of humour over anyone else, only thing i would say is you need a bit of a sense of humour sometimes or you would probably hang yourself..laugh or cry!

I don't mean develop one over the years because of the trading, I mean as a typical trader quality, like being comfortabe with numbers, or thinking in derivatives, whatever.

IMO, most traders have a GSOH* even before they've thrown the screens on the floor...

well i was a bouncer for 5years before trading, (still am now and again) and i would say doorman have the best sense of humor IMO all be it extremly sick and twisted lol

Ok, well I am going to change my vote from "the plane takes off" to "No".

Clearly this thread is crying out for people to make jokes, crack a few LoL's out, complain about missing options and generally use their affable and charming personalities to have a bit of a laugh (that was infact the whole bloody point).

The best we got was "uhh hehhe... I'm a bouncer.. uhuhuhuh" (a lá Beavis and Butthead).

I first learned about sense of humour when I was part of a team in the military whose boss usually experienced "total sense of humour failure" whenever things didn't go according to plan. Ironically, this enabled the rest of us to take our own senses of humour to a higher plane and thus withstand the most dire situations. You will doubtless understand how useful this can be when trading !
