Any sites that show abnormal buying of shares by directors?
Say in small cap stocks, etc.
http://www.digitallook.com/
Basic account giving that info is free.
That's if you knopw the company name though isn;t it?
I was thinking more like something that lists abnormal director buying of shares when you don't know the company name but it would come up in a filter or news feed.
Oh and BTW, don't expect this to be a reliable pointer to SP rises for small caps.
Most small cap director holding changes are due to options stock (i.e. part of their remuneration package).
No
but say a stock had been on a decline and at a base level you get director buying, that's a sign that something is up especially if they are long term directors...at least worth investigating.
I can see what you are driving at, all the same, I would stick to concrete news regarding new contracts and earnings TBH. Reason being director's frequently have option stock at a lower price than traded, its pretty commonplace in AIM. There is quite often very little reason for them to buy stock at market price due to option stock which has a set price for a certain duration (example 1p options for 2 years with market price of 3-7p).
They can excersise their right at anytime in that 2 years at 1p per share.
TBH AIM is punt territory - view it as potentially 100% downside at worst, or more realistically for a news gap 50-70% if the news is really bad.
Option stock is given to them as part of the contract?
Got a few examples:
Polo Resources has pretty extensive Director buying at these levels.
China Food Co had a lot of interest at around 39p before moving up.
Specialist Energy had a lot of deals at around 50p and it's now at 80 or so.
GGG a load at 12p now at 30.
Of course, there has been a small cap run in recent months but all the directors deals came at almost the right time.
Option stock is part of their pay deal, a lot of AIMers can be cash strapped in the early stages,
so option stock is a cheaper alternative and quite often has performance related conditions attached.
What I was getting at is option stock is nowhere near as good a pointer as full price share buys by directors
Is there anyway to find out whether it was straight out buying or options ?
