Why is there a difference in the historical prices of gold when downloaded from different sites?

Lets say the daily closing spot prices. The closing price for yesterday should be the same. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes in a perfect world correct.
Depends on spread and feed source as already stated.
Spot is not exchange traded.

What are your sources?

gold.org and oanda.com.
There is a discrepency between past prices.

It happens more often than many think.
Feed variation is the main problem, usually erroneous spikes
on one feed that don't show on another.
There are usually small variations most of the time anyway.
If you are analysing data, either allow for it,
or buy decent futures tick data.

13 sep
OANDA 1345.49
Gold.org 1318.5

12 sep
OANDA 1363.94
gold.org 1328

there are others values too.

These are daily closing prices? OANDA provides a continuous market for spot Gold and may well have a different end of day to Gold.org.
