hey

i did the mistake to leave a bet on the DAX during the weekend with some loses

after 3+% up do you think this will continue or go down??

i guess ill have to be in front of the screen at times opening so as to close the position either on a loss or gin...

Probably up towards 10,000 but I wouldn't bet on it managing to close above there on Monday night.

A rough and ready rule (but sometimes a useful sense check) is to be long only when price is above the 200EMA, be short only when it is below, unless you see overwhelming evidence to ignore this. The DAX has been below the 200 all year so far, so you'd need a lot of conviction in the bullish arguments to be long here.

i see
so that was definitely a bad move..
i should have stopped earlier in the afternoon ion friday
everything was going ate well at that point for my portfolio :(

I got one at 9875 area, small size and not that worried.
The close at the end of the week a lot of time can be over done.
The China data over the weekend was mixed with a slight negative feel.
Hong Kong and Australia are hitting resistance, so will need to push higher take US and Euro futures higher. Still be buying the dips and not shorting at this stage.

Have attached my buy orders for the DAX will adjust if we get big change in lead from Asia.
But always start small play myself into the game and increase size.
Get a better feel with some skin in the game.

All the best
Oscar

If pushed to hold over the weekend then I would be more comfortable short than long. If it is troubling you though it means your size is too much relative to your account size or comfort zone. If the trade met all your criteria to open it and you like your system then just make the size manageable.

I would say you will get a chance to get out onside at some point on Monday.

Don't listen to I.P. he just gets off on people losing money and hopes the world joins him as a retired unprofitable trader who is on a trading forum day in day out in the hope of finding other losers.

well i wish on monday its goes a bit lower...and will get out with the least cost!!!

as for the second part
well i joined her to tell my opinion and of course listen others which are definitely more experienced than me
i have no intention to insult anyone here and will never do..this is my attitude and will never change even if people swear or insult me:p

My feeling is that, with interest rates so low, shares are the only place to invest, so most markets will tend to rise. However, as a trader, I take daily trading as it comes and keep an open mind on ups and downs. I'll make my decisions on Monday morning. I want to be as gentle as possible, because I have left trades on overnight. Leaving one on over the weekend is not a good idea. Look at yourself, Derek. You are worried and you should be enjoying your Sunday. Don't do it again and I hope that you come out of tomorrow ok.

It will come and something will happen, no matter what it is. When it does, any of us is likely to make a CU of it and, possibly, will do. It is not necessary to nurse it over the weekend, though.

FX market opens first.
Worth looking at the Japanese YEN.
Risk on risk off currency.
Money going into the YEN means money coming out of the market.
So YEN will go up and markets down.
The best risk on risk off pairs are AUD/JPY and NZD/JPY
Because there is more Yield in those pairs.

Based on the attached opening, markets should open slightly lower than they closed at the end of the week.
