Hi guys,

this is my first post, will have a post on the intro thread in a sec.

BASICALLY I want to get into trading, I'm a noob in every (trading) sense of the word - all I have experience in is BullBearings, and we know how rubbish that place is. I want to get into FTSE spreads. Preferably day trades part time and then go full time if the first few months are successful.

I'm not going to ask the typical noob question "which provider should I use" etc, as I know that everyone is different. I need to find something that is right for me and so all I want to know from you guys are the criteria that I should use when doing my research into different spread providers. Which should take the highest priority - cost of the feed? the spreads? Any insight would be appreciated.

I'm personally leaning towards IG Index at the moment, but need to look at what the others have to offer.

As a newbie, the first thing is not to concentrate your effort on finding a suitable SB provider. It is to read up on risk and money management strategies. After that, try to find a SB who offer a user predefine stop loss (not too many around). Have a good setup, both in hardware and external charts. Be prepared to initially lose some money, as education cost a lot of money. I would start out with lowest entry level as possible, in order to limit your losses the first year.

Good Luck!
