basemetals.com is very good for base metals, but I think nowadays they might try and charge you for the premium info, not sure about that though. Similarly, I think those guys run thebulliondesk.com, and that is good as well. MetalBulletin.com also does a job, and if you subscribe, they probably produce some of the best info and research there is that is totally independant. If you are interested in CER's or EUA's etc, then communities.thomsonreuters.com/carbon is very good and is free.
Apart from that, there's always google news 🙂
