commentaries/indicators for daily index direction

hi,
I wonder if anyone knows of/makes use of any daily index markets commentary services or any useful indicator/technical/stsatistical analysis to forecast the closing position of an index (ftse/dow etc..) on yesterdays close, ie will it close higher or lower? I am in the final stages of developing a system to profit from this and would just like to confirm my findings with other such commentaries/indicators.

for example: www.bulls-vs-bears.com provide a daily predicted hi/lo forecast for the major us indices, but do not make any prediction re higher/lower.

I do intend to publish the system for the good of members, when i am satisfied it is viable, so any input greatly received.

I am thinking particularly in terms of day trading and fixed odds trading
