CMC Plc, deal4free, CFD

Hi,
What do you think about these possibilities
CMC Plc, deal4free and CFD?
Are they useful for the US stocks as well?
What is the major difference? Why doesn't EVERYONE use this kind of trading instead of normal trading with normal brokers?

The spreads are not as good as if you used a US broker and their choice of stocks is limited. Other wise ok, by and large.
