CMC Markets

CMC was my first broker,
like been trough hell and back,
I experienced the intire platform freezing and stops yes,
plus tons of requotes
I found it impossible to trade with them,
I suggest you find a better broker, CMC is the worst

Is anyone experience market closed a lot on the CMC platform, for a split second?
Yes, also in Australia. Another trick is they will quietly switch your ticket
from "Market Price" to "Limit Order" without warning.
And then after you place your trade you realise your not in.
So I constantly watch the trade ticket and have seen it switch to Limit Order
several times in one session.
Sometimes this has happen instantly after I clicked on the trade ticket.

I am not sure why people compete with brokers? I mean why the hell would I want to lose money.

This whole CFDs is plain fraud. Also it is laughable that people tend to approach the markets through them.

CFDs is nothing but greed simply because of leverage. Leverage means crap when you are competing with people that own the casino. The house never loses.

It is not a good way to start the trading career.

Maybe. In my real early days I ran $400 up to $3500 in a couple of months and lost the lot in one day.
Later I ran up $500 dollars to $25,000 in twelve months and lost it all
in four days on their old MarketMaker platform which was totally crap.
But it was also totally me that lost it all.
You can still win despite the disadvantages they intentionally or unintentionally
provide.

I recently started using their CFD tracker platform, and although the charts aren't very good. It has a major benefit over other platforms for retail investors, which is the ability to use fractional pricing and to be able to choose what amount of leverage you use. So you can use zero leverage if you want - which I do frequently. Or 50% or 90% etc as it's fully adjustable.

I think this is the single best development I've seen on retail trading platform, as a very small investor can have a truly diversified portfolio in indexes, currencies, stocks and commodities, so I'm very happy with it.

Yes their tracker platform is significantly better then the MarkerMaker.
After my last big loss I didn't trade for a couple of years and have recently started
again. They have improved the trading platform quite a bit.
They no longer have requotes ( I think this is where the ticket switching happens).
And they definitely track the market closely where as once they could move away from the market by up to 4 points.
I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt because of their significant
improvements.
But in this game only the naive expect a level playing field.
It's bit like physically building your own house, if you are mentally prepared for things to be harder then you expect and
for many things to go wrong, one can actually enjoy the process.
