I'm sorry if this question's in FAQ ... maybe anyone can share a link?
The matter is that the majority of index option contracts on CBOE are European. To my mind it's sensible, because you do not get an underlying position in case of early exercise. However, OEX options have two exercise styles: European and American. Why? Why CBOE did break its spectrum of European index options with an American one?
